From Webflow to WordPress for a Therapy Practice

A Platform the Practice Can Own

Safe Space Counselling Services is a therapy practice in Duncan, British Columbia, led by Shalene Takara. Its Webflow site had become a ceiling on the practice's plans for content, SEO and paid certification courses. We migrated the full site to WordPress on the Kadence theme, preserved the warm peach and cream identity, and built a blog the team runs on its own, a Rank Math SEO foundation and a Tutor LMS course platform with membership control. The site launched on schedule, fully owned and ready to grow.

Growing Past the Edges of Webflow

Safe Space Counselling Services was running on Webflow while its plans moved ahead of it. Three constraints shaped the whole project.

A platform the practice outgrew

Webflow made it hard to scale content, run an in house blog and SEO program, or hand day to day updates to the practice team without extra help.

No home for its paid course plans

The practice planned paid certification courses, starting with an EMDR companion course, and needed payments, membership and controlled access.

A warm brand that could not break

The warm peach and cream identity, friendly illustrations and calm, accessible layout all had to arrive on the new platform with nothing lost.

Navigation, redirects, orphaned pages, links, copy, SEO titles and instructor attribution were all fixed in one structured quality pass.

Domain and DNS moved through the practice's Canadian host once QA closed, with a staging to production workflow for every future change.

The production launch ran through the practice's Canadian host, with domain and DNS moved once every item on the punch list was closed. The staging environment now lives on our own server at no extra charge, which removed a paid SSL add on and gave the practice a safe place to test every change before it goes live.

The team publishes its own posts, the EMDR companion course sells with access fully in the practice's control, and a staging first workflow keeps every future change safe. The old Webflow site is archived for the record, and the project closed with a review, a recommendation and a referred client.

Safe Space Counselling Services is a therapy practice in Duncan, British Columbia, led by Shalene Takara. The practice offers individual, couples and family therapy, with a focus on healing childhood wounds, working through relationship and family struggles, and exploring cultural identity in a safe, welcoming space.
